Bounty.jpg

Bounty

Introducing Bounty: Born on Sanctuary on October 26th, 2022, this spirited young Brumby hails from Barmah, one of the River Road Brumbies.

At 16 months old, Bounty is thriving under the watchful care of her devoted mother and doting Aunty Avani.

With her playful personality and robust appetite, Bounty still enjoys the occasional visit to the "milk bar," much to the delight of her patient mother, Calypso.

As she continues to grow, Bounty will remain in the comfort of her mob setting here at the sanctuary surrounded by the love and support of her Brumby family.

Eclipse

Introducing Eclipse: The daughter of Avani, who arrived at HOOFS2010 Sanctuary still nursing from her mother alongside her younger sister Luna.

Unfortunately, Eclipse's growth was stunted due to early starvation, and she will remain as a lifer at the sanctuary.

Hailing from Barmah as a River Road Brumby, Eclipse's journey embodies strength and determination in the face of adversity.

Luna, Eclipse's sister, also joins her from the River Road Barmah area, adding to the familial bond that makes their story even more poignant.

Sera

Meet Sera: The spirited daughter of Matilda, who's quickly making her mark at just 4 months old.

With each passing day, she's growing by leaps and bounds, embodying the vibrant energy of youth.

Sera resides with her newfound family and will continue to thrive under the nurturing care of her mother at the sanctuary until she's ready for the next chapter.

Hailing from the Bago region as a proud Brumby, Sera's playful antics and bold personality add a touch of charm to the sanctuary's vibrant community.

Matilda

Introducing Matilda: A remarkable mature Bago mare who wandered into the paddocks of SMART Animal Rescue in Batlow NSW and found herself a safe haven.

It was here that she gave birth to her precious filly, Sera, a symbol of hope and new beginnings.

Matilda's journey has led her to the HOOFS sanctuary, where she will reside for life, surrounded by the sanctuary's compassionate embrace.

Trooper 4_edited.jpg

Trooper

Introducing Trooper: A striking grey pewter Kosciuszko Stallion with an undeniable air of handsomeness, now in his teens.

Beyond his striking appearance, Trooper captivates all with his gentle and beautiful nature, earning him a special place in our hearts.

While there are no plans to geld him at this time, Trooper will continue to grace us with his presence and charm for the foreseeable future.

He shares a close bond with his best mate, Rodger the Barmah stallion, forming a dynamic duo that adds to the unique tapestry of our sanctuary.

AMAROO

Meet Amaroo

Amaroo was born in sanctuary after his mother Lowana was rescued.

At 12 months old Amaroo had found himself a home only to be abandon in his home area and left to run free with the Bumbies, Thanx to a caring local Amaroo was caught and returned to care under HOOFS banner. He is presently going through some retraining with one of our members and needs sponsors to ensure his care needs are met until a decision can be made whether he will be offered for rehoming or be housed in life sanctaury at Harrow

Calypso

Introducing Calypso: A remarkable mare hailing from Barmah National Park and rescued as part of the River Road operation in collaboration with Parks Victoria.

Arriving at the sanctuary with her precious filly, Aurora, whilst also in foal, Calypso's journey has been one of resilience and strength.

With a spirit as independent as the wild, Calypso will find her sanctuary home for life, where she can roam free and embrace the peace she deserves.

While she may come across as non-social, Calypso's reserved nature masks a keen intelligence and a heart filled with wisdom.

Often found standing back to observe, she is a silent observer, taking in the world around her with a quiet dignity that commands respect.  In her presence, there is a sense of tranquillity and grace, reminding us of the beauty found in solitude.

Mugan

 Mugan: The name means Ghost

A troubled soul again a failed rehoming that saw Mugan returned to the contractor with Eumarrah

Mugan is always on high alert and is taking some time to settle here.

Again time is what he needs to learn to trust and regain his confidence. Slowly slowly we hope he will soon be able to trust in us.

Mugan will have all the time he needs here in Sanctuary.

Sadly Mugan has many issues that see him taking much longer, Sadly he was not able to be gelded on Vet day even after having mammoth drugs, Our team of vets are working together to find a better solution to helping Mugan so he can be taken to Harrow Sanctuary to live as free as possible.

He is much calmer now and enjoys his days with hus buddy Migaloo

Meet Adelong: This lovely mare was rescue as a young filly not even a year old in 2012 after being saved of a slaughter bound truck, Sadly she had several attempts at finding the right home.

And our Boomerang policy ensured she would always be safe for life.

She now lives at Harrow Victoria on sanctuary where she can be as free to just be a wild horse

Eumarrah

Meet Eumarrah: The name means Warrior

A failed rehoming saw this 18mth old colt back at the contractors.
Sadly his first contact with humans wasnt positive so he landed with us here. The road for this fellow will be patience and he will have as long as he needs to find that all humans are not the same

On collecting this little man a challenge was excepted, he had a halter and drag lead on for some time

the first contact was in a crush again to enable the removal of the halter before transport.

His fear of humans was evident as he fought to not be touched again, so very sad to see.

he will never be forced to accept things human means.

At HOOFS2010, he will continue to thrive, surrounded by  27 Brumbies who now live as close to freedom as possible, He is a lovely young man

Like Flint and Amorata she has returned for life Sanctuary at Harrow Victoria where our Brumbies live as close to free as possible in captivity

Mai ! has found her sanctuary home with us, where she will be cherished and cared for in the long term.

Flint

Meet Flint:  Due to very sad circumstance Flint needed Life Sanctuary. Whilst not one of our originals his home was with two of our gorgeous Brumbies. Tragedy took his owners life and the 3 mates arrived at HOOFS2010 to live their days together with our mobs of Brumbies.

Flint stays very close to his Girls Amorata and Nanga Mai .

Their home in Harrow Victoria is where they will remain
