HOOFS2010 MISSION STATEMENT
HOOFS2010 is dedicated to the rescue, protection, and preservation of a sustainable proportion of Australia's wild (Brumby) horse population, with the overarching goal of preventing uncontrolled mass culling.
We believe in the intrinsic value of these majestic creatures and seek to garner recognition and acceptance from both the Australian Government and the general public for Brumby horses as an integral part of our national heritage, drawing inspiration from cultural icons such as "The Man from Snowy River."
Central to our mission is the establishment of a working sanctuary that serves as a model for positive management practices. Through this sanctuary, we aim to regulate and control the population of Australia's Brumbies by implementing preservation and distribution strategies that prioritize placing these horses into the care of responsible individuals who share our commitment to their welfare.
In pursuit of our objectives, we advocate for government funding to support our cause, recognizing that the preservation of Brumby horses is not only a moral imperative but also a matter of long-term benefit for all Australians.
By working collaboratively with stakeholders and the broader community, we strive to ensure a future where Brumby horses thrive in harmony with their natural environment and are celebrated as cherished symbols of our nation's heritage.
OUR VALUES
Our values form the cornerstone of our organization, guiding every aspect of our work with unwavering dedication. We uphold principles of integrity and accountability, ensuring that all our dealings are conducted with the utmost honesty and transparency. Operating as a not-for-profit organization, we prioritize fairness and due process in all our endeavours, seeking only to recover expenses incurred in fulfilling our mission.
Central to our ethos is the recognition of the invaluable contributions of our volunteers, who generously contribute their time and resources to further our cause. We deeply appreciate their commitment and strive to foster an environment where every individual feels valued and empowered to make a difference.
Communication is paramount at HOOFS2010, and we are dedicated to keeping our members informed every step of the way. Whether it's sharing updates on our initiatives or seeking input from our community, we believe in the importance of open and transparent dialogue.
Safety is of paramount importance to us, and we are unwavering in our commitment to maintaining high standards of safety for all our members and the general public. Furthermore, we recognize our duty of care to the environment and will uphold a set of standards to minimise our environmental footprint.
Above all, we are driven by a profound sense of purpose to prevent the uncontrolled and inhumane culling and removal of Australia's Brumby horses. We firmly believe in preserving Australia's wild horse heritage for the benefit of future generations, safeguarding this iconic symbol of our nation's identity and history.
MEET THE DEDICATED HOOFS TEAM

Secretary/ Public Officer
Lynette Sutton
Lynette is the founder of HOOFS2010 which began back in 2010 when her daughter Stephanie begged her to make a change to the outcome for horses removed from the bush after seeing Australian brumbies in the sales at Camden in New South Wales.
Lynne's very first Brumby rescue were 15 young ones which then led to another 5 heavily pregnant mares that foaled soon after. All of these horses were successfully re-homed with Brumby-loving Australians.
Lynne has a deep passion for the lives of Brumbies and she used that passion to fuel her fight for their right to survive and is concerned about the false media that profiles the Wild Horses as having a negative impact on the environment.
Brumbies are an asset, they are an Australian icon that has been mismanaged for over a decade.
HOOFS work validates the very asset the government wishes to destroy and it is this that lights a fire in my heart and soul. I pledge to bring real change to the Brumby plight and I will continue lobbying for better management plans.
Raising awareness whilst showcasing the quality of the Australian wild horses to the greater public in effect changes the image of what the Australian government deem as feral waste.
Lynne has worked to collect and record DNA samples to send to Dr Gus Cothran at Texas University, a specialist in his genetic field to be included in the Worlds Wild Horses genetic database.

Treasurer & Vice President
Lisa Barr
Lisa is the Treasurer & Vice President of HOOFS2010, she lives in Hamilton in Western Victoria and has always been concerned for the plight of Australia's Heritage Wild Horses, the Brumbies.
Lisa chose HOOFS2010 as the charity to support because of their life lease and boomerang Brumby re-homing policy.
The fact that HOOFS works entirely for the welfare of the Brumbies certainly made an impact, so much so that Lisa found her charitable family and one that she wholeheartedly supports and will stand by.
Lisa is super keen to ensure that Mirrabooka Land Project is a success .
